PRESS CONFERENCE WITH THE AIM OF INVITING YOUNG PEOPLE TO PARTICIPATE IN TIC AMERICAS 2011

The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) and The Municipality of Trujillo throughout the Local Economic Development Division, held a press conference with the aim of inviting young people to participate in the Fifth edition of the Talent and Innovation Competition of the Americas (TIC Americas 2011) and Eco Challenge 2011.

The press conference was attended by the Provincial Councillor Dante Chavez on behalf of Mayor Cesar Acuña; the Local Economic Development Manager, Eduardo Azabache; the Assistant Manager of Business Development, Luis Verdi; and YABT program officer in Peru, Guillermo Cabanillas.

Throughout the presentation, the benefits and opportunities of participating and winning TIC Americas were presented. Moreover, the results of the previous editions were exposed, motivating the local press to spread this initiative through its information platforms.

TIC Americas presents awards as an international entrepreneur competition and business accelerator for young people. TIC Americas differentiates itself from other existing business plan competitions by incorporating the "before and after" phases. The "before" phase includes the training and mentoring, and the "after" phase mainly involves the follow-up, investment linkages, internships and promotion opportunities.

This year, TIC Americas 2011, includes the Eco-Challenge, sponsored by PepsiCo, a special category of awards within TIC Americas for projects related to environmental and water conservation.
